Hi, my name is Geraldine Lawlor and I am an administrator in an Alternate School in British Columbia. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary School, concentrations in Chemistry and Biology and a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I believe that, as a teacher, you need to challenge yourself to present material so that students are engaged in their learning. I am a believer in life long learning. I enjoy implementing technology into my classroom and have learned a lot about using technology in the classroom over the past few years. I recently decided to try blogging as a means to share my passion for education with others.
I decided to take on the role of an administrator because I wanted to impact the education of more students in a positive way. My role as an administrator has been challenging and rewarding, after teaching for 23 years in a high school science classroom, an Alternate setting was very new and I had a lot to learn, quickly. I am still learning every day!
My other passions include my family. I am married to a high school English teacher, and we have two amazing children, a son and a daughter. I am also an avid reader, baker, love camping, travelling and the ocean.
